Zurich home insurance quotes: Home prices rise, premiums fall

ZURICH (AP) Home prices in Zurich rose 0.3% in the week to Feb. 14, while Zurich-based home insurer Aetna lost 0.7% in its first week of operations in the city.
Home prices in Switzerland rose 0% in February to an average of 4,000 Swiss francs ($4,300) per square meter.
That compares with a 0.6% increase in February 2017.
Aetna’s Zurich-listed home insurance policy is offering a 2.5% annual increase in premiums for policyholders for the 2017-19 term.
Aetnas policyholder base includes those who buy their policies on Aetns platform, such as home owners, who can opt out of paying premiums.
The company says about 4 million policies are in the market.
Zurich-based insurer AETNA, the country’s second-largest insurer, said in a statement on Friday that it will cover an average home owner with annual premiums of 3,300 Swiss franc (1,100 euros).
The company said its new home insurance product, which covers all homeowners in Zurich, is designed to meet the needs of homeowners and their families who want coverage.
